About this activity
MVA PharmaVision Challenge 2026 was an online academic competition organized by MediVersa Alliance to engage Pharm.D students in research-oriented learning, scientific writing, teamwork, and effective communication of emerging pharmaceutical concepts.
Students from the University of Lahore and Jinnah Sindh Medical University participated through separate university phases. Participants were organized into teams and were required to prepare two major submissions: a mini article/report based on scientific literature and a full explanatory educational video designed to communicate the assigned topic in clear and understandable language.
The University of Lahore Phase focused on “mRNA and siRNA Therapeutics: How RNA Is Changing the Future of Medicine,” while the Jinnah Sindh Medical University Phase focused on “Nanomedicine as a Drug Delivery Platform: Targeted Delivery, Improved Efficacy, and Reduced Toxicity.”
Participants were guided to use reliable research and review articles, follow Vancouver referencing style, and use reference-management tools such as EndNote. A research-writing learning playlist was also shared to help students understand the fundamentals of professional review-style scientific writing.
Final submissions were assessed on scientific accuracy, topic coverage, writing quality, referencing, originality, explanatory clarity, video presentation, and overall scientific communication. The evaluation incorporated faculty review by Dr. Muhammad Imran Sajid.
Group 1 was selected as the winning team from both university phases. Winning teams were recognized through MVA platforms, and strong-performing students were also identified for potential future research and review-writing opportunities.
The challenge was designed not only as a competition, but as an early research-development opportunity for pharmacy students to explore emerging areas of pharmaceutical science while strengthening their academic writing and communication skills.
